What's Included

All 121 carrentals.co.uk rental rates include unlimited mileage (except Canada and Australia), third party insurance, collision damage waiver (CDW ), theft waiver, airport surcharges, bail bonds (where needed) and all local taxes except Australia and Israel where taxes are paid locally by law. For additional terms & conditions see below.

What's not Included

Personal accident insurance: this is probably covered in your holiday insurance. It is an option which you will be offered on the collection of the car.

Insurance exclusions (see below)

Petrol: a deposit is often payable for petrol and it is usually refunded if the car is returned with a full tank. Please check the petrol policy when you pick up your car.

Garaging, parking and traffic fines.

Additional drivers charges where applicable - please check with our reservations department at the time of booking. These charges are payable locally.

Delivery and collection of your car can be arranged during normal working hours. There may be a charge for this.

Out of hours charges (see below).

Prices

Prices shown are for the appropriately priced car rental in each destination, and are for guidance only. Prices are subject to change at any time.

Period of Rental

The minimum rental period in most European and Canadian destinations is three days. Please check at time of booking for those destinations which offer one day hire. In the USA and Australia the minimum rental period is one day. The maximum rental period in the USA varies - please check at the time of booking. Rental days are based on 24 hours. The price is determined by the start date of the rental. For rentals of over a week, divide the weekly rate by seven and multiply it by the number of days required. For rentals of less than a week divide the weekly rate by five and multiply by the number of days (except in the USA where daily rates apply, and the UK where special rates apply for rentals of less than a week). Special weekend rates apply across a number of locations. If you wish to extend the rental period after the collection of your car, or if you return the car late, you will will be charged locally at the local daily rate - which may be higher than our rates. No refunds are payable on vehicles returned early.

Flight Information

For airport pickups it is essential that 121 carrentals.co.uk is given the correct flight number and arrival time, before issuing your voucher. If this is not available at the time of booking, please ensure that you inform us of this at least seven days prior to departure. If the information is not provided in time, no responsibility can be accepted or compensation allowed for a failed rental.

Age of Driver

If you are under 25 years old or over 65 years old please inform our customer services staff at the time of booking. Some age restrictions may apply in certain destinations and in some cases there is a young driver's charge payable locally.

Special Requests

Child seats: these are mandatory in most countries and must be requested at the time of booking.

Roof racks, ski racks and snow chains: these are available in some locations and should be especially requested at the time of booking. There is usually a charge for them which is payable locally. No guarantee can be made regarding their availability.

Cancellation / Amendment Charges

There are no charges associated with amendment of the voucher or cancellation of the voucher unless within 24 hours from the start date and time when a charge of £30.00 will be made to amend or cancel the voucher.

Delivery / Collection

Collection is normally at the airport or local office. In some locations deliveries are available during normal working hours. If you would like your car to be delivered, full address and delivery times must be given at the time of booking. Delivery is normally to a local office, with a driver collecting you from your accommodation to pick up the car. A charge payable locally may apply.

Out of Hours Charges

In most locations flights can be met and cars supplied outside of normal working hours; however there may be an additional charge for this service payable locally and this can be quoted when your flight timings are given to us. Please note that in the event that a flight is delayed, causing the car pick-up to fall outside normal working hours, the additional charge will be made.

Driving Licences

Drivers must produce a full National driving licence held for at least one year (or in some cases an international driving licence). In some destinations, drivers must have held a full licence for a minimum of two years. It is the driver's responsibility to ensure that he/she has the appropriate driving licence. Our customer service staff must be informed of any endorsements (points) against the driver's licence as we may not be able to accept your booking. No refunds will be given for rentals rejected due to non production of a driving licence or non-disclosure of driving offences. Faxed or photocopied licenses are not acceptable.

Rental Documents

The rental voucher must be presented when picking up your rental car,  121carrentals.co.uk cannot be held responsible for rentals rejected if a voucher is not presented. You should retain your rental documents for a minimum of 28 days after returning home.
 

Additional Drivers

Charges are often apply for additional drivers. 121 carrentals.co.uk cannot be held responsible for any changes in charges. Please check with our reservations department at the time of booking.

Deposits

Deposits vary by destination. All clients must produce a valid credit card in the name of the driver upon collection of the car as a form of deposit. Cash deposits are rarely accepted. A deposit is often payable for petrol (gas) and it is usually refunded if the car is returned with a full tank. If the tank is not full, petrol (gas) used will be charged by our local supplier at its prevailing rate. Please check the petrol (gas) policy when you pick up your car. Deposits against damage are required in some European countries and a major credit card can be used for this purpose.

Provision of Cars

Please note that suppliers can refuse to provide a vehicle to any customer who is, in their opinion, unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances your contract with us will terminate immediately, and we will have no further liability to you.

Number of Passengers

Our rental cars are insured for a maximum number of passengers. 121 carrentals.co.uk cannot accept responsibilty if the vehicle is not large enough to fit all passengers and luggage on arrival. All information provided on this subject by 121 carrentals.co.uk is done so on a best endeavours basis only. You must be sure to rent the most suitable vehicle for your needs.

Driving Restrictions

Restrictions are applicable when crossing country / state borders. Please advise our reservations department at the time of booking if you plan to drive out of the country / state of vehicle collection. Charges may apply locally for extra insurance.

Insurance Exclusions and Excess

In common with most car rental companies the insurance cover offered by many of our suppliers does not cover tyres, windscreens, the roof, the underside and interior of the vehicle and towing charges. You may therefore be liable for damage to these items. Most suppliers also impose an excess which will be advised at the time of collection. This means you are liable for the first part of any insurance claim. Insurance cover is not provided for contents of the car in case of theft. Some cars at some location will benefit from either no insurance excess or a refundable insurance excess.  Please request details from our reservations department.

Car Type / Suitability

121 carrentals.co.uk is unable to guarantee a particular make or model of car. The car shown in our promotional material and on your voucher is for guidance only and may be substituted for an alternative similar or upgraded car (at no extra cost). If you are dissatisfied in anyway with the standard of the car, you must advise the local supplier immediately and 121 carrentals.co.uk in writing within 21 days of your return. 121 carrentals.co.uk cannot accept liability where this procedure is not followed.

Mechanical Difficulties / Accidents

In the event of any mechanical difficulties or accidents involving your rental vehicle, it is important that details are reported to the local supplier within 24 hours. The local police should also be notified in the case of accidents and a signed police report obtained. Full details of third parties should also be obtained. Authority to repair or replace a vehicle must be given by your local supplier whose name and contact details are shown on your rental agreement. You should retain copies of all rental documentation in the event an insurance company is involved. Compensation cannot be considered when this procedure is not followed.

Complaints

121 carrentals.co.uk will investigate any complaint received within 28 days of the rental finish date. 121 carrentals.co.uk will aim to resolve all complaints within 28 days of receipt of the same in writing to this email address: complaints@121carrentals.co.uk however depending upon the nature of the issue and the information provided complaints may take longer than 28 days to investigate fully.  No aspect of a complaint will be discuss via the telephone, only email correspondence will be entered into.
 

Additional Conditions Applicable to the USA and Canada

Third Party Insurance

all rentals in the usa and canada include third party liability insurance which conforms with the statutory minimum required by each state but can be as low as $5,000. 

Excess Liability Insurance

in many countries, it is required by law that car insurance must include unlimited third party coverage. in the usa this is not the case. instead each state establishes a minimum level of coverage by law, which may be as low as $5,000. excess liability insurance (also known as supplemental liability insurance (sli) or extended protection (ep)) is third party liability insurance above this level of protection increasing your third party protection to $1,000,000 in respect of any claims made against you. ep also provides coverage up to $100,000 ($40,000 in texas) to the driver and passengers in the rental vehicle against death or injury caused by a negligent uninsured/underinsured motorist (under-insured motorist protection -ump).

Loss Damage Waiver (LDW)

All rates include LDW. There is a compulsory insurance excess in the United States of US$100 dollars. In the states of New York and Illinois the excess is US$200. In Canada the insurance excess is CA$250 if over 25 years, CA$500 if aged 21 - 24. The renter remains liable by law in these States and Canada for damage repair costs up to these maximum amounts.

Tax

All taxes are included except those on any extras purchased locally.

Additional Conditions for Australia  

Mileage

All rentals in metropolitan areas of australia include unlimited mileage, except minivans where rates include 200kms per day. in country areas rates include 200 kilometres per day. in remote areas the rates include 100 kilometres. in both cases, excess kilometres are charged at au$0.25 per km. 

Deposit

A security deposit of between au$250 and au$1000 depending on car group, is required to be made upon collection of the vehicle. any major credit card in the driver's name is acceptable for this holding deposit.

General Conditions

All bookings by clients are subject to our Terms and Conditions. No other terms, conditions or warranties, expressed or implied by law, custom and course of dealing shall form part of any contract between 121 carrentals.co.uk and our clients except for those terms implied by law whose application is mandatory.

The client acknowledges that in making a booking with 121 carrentals.co.uk it does so only on the basis of the material contained herein. All other statements or representations made by 121 carrentals.co.uk, its employees, or agents are of no effect unless confirmed to the client in writing.

121 carrentals.co.uk sources vehicles from various suppliers for the countries in which it offers rentals. The rental of the vehicle will be subject to the law of the country in which it is supplied to you and for this reason you will be required to sign a rental contract with the rental company which supplies the vehicle. You will be subject to its terms and conditions and local law.

121 carrentals.co.uk reserves the right to levy any government increase in local taxes that may be introduced after compiling the information contained herein. 121 carrentals.co.uk also reserves the right to make additional charges incurred as a result of fluctuations in currency exchange rates. However, once the reservation has been paid in full no surcharges will be applied. Any additional charges payable on arrival are subject to local taxes at the prevailing rate applicable in that country.

121 carrentals.co.uk' liability to the client for any loss, damage, injury or accident whatsoever, whether arising out of negligence, breach of contract or any other cause shall not exceed the invoiced price of rental of the vehicle concerned provided that nothing in this clause shall limit 121 carrentals.co.uk' liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence.

121 carrentals.co.uk will not be held responsible for any person driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, causing wilful damage, off road driving or driving without due care and attention. The client shall indemnify 121 carrentals.co.uk against this in respect of any such claims. This list is not exhaustive, restrictions may apply at peak times with special weekend rates. Cars and all offers, are subject to availability, and all information, including prices, is believed to be correct at the time of preparing this information - December 1998.
